How to Know Jesus
God loves you and wants to have a relationship with you!
The Bible says, "For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
But, the disobedience and rebellion in your life, called "sin", stands in the way of this relationship. The Bible says, "for all Have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
And that's not all--because of your sin, God says you must be punished, and that punishment is death. The Bible says, "For the wages of sin is death..."
You can't have a relationship with God the way you are; you're helpless. Doing good things, saying prayers, and attending church won't help. None of this will get you any closer to God, nor into Heaven. That's why He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for you.
The Bible says, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
You can have a relationship with God, and you can be sure of your way to Heaven... How? By trusting in Jesus Christ alone to save you from your sins, and to give you eternal life.
The Bible says, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no man can boast."
You may want to formalize your decision through a prayer like this:
"Dear God, I know that I'm a sinner. I realize I can't help myself. I need you to save me. I believe that you died for me, and I trust in you alone to save me. Amen."
If you say a prayer such as the one above (the words don't have to be exact), and actually, completely, believe that statement and the total finished work of JESUS CHRIST, then you are guaranteed eternal life with God. The Bible says, "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Reject all of man's wisdom and philosophies and the traditions of men. Repent--which means to turn to God--and trust in the supremacy of Christ alone!
